DIY LIP SCRUB!

Say goodbye to chapped lips in a minute with this 100 percent natural Do It Yourself (DIY) method.

We love DIYing when it comes to our beauty products, because it means we can control what we’re putting on our skin (be gone gross and harmful chemicals!). And this time, we’re making our very own lip scrub. Each of these recipes boils down to two components: an exfoliator and a nourishing agent, which is a great combination for vanishing chapped lips forever.

make this simple lip scrub from the comfort of your own kitchen.

take a bowl and make a smooth paste using
1 tsp honey,
1/2 tsp sugar, and
1/2 tsp coconut/olive oil.

Direction to apply
Rub scrub into lips and exfoliate gently. Let it sit for a minute or two, then rinse off with warm water.
Use 1-2 times weekly.

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and store up to a month in glass jar or tub with lid. Old eye cream jars work great.

It’s most effective to exfoliate your lips at bedtime, followed by a good lip balm.

BENEFITS OF HONEY:

Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. Aging: Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging. Complexion boost: It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow.

BENEFITS OF SUGAR:
Sugar scrubs are great to use in the winter, as exfoliating the top layer of skin helps moisturizers penetrate more deeply and hydrate longer.

BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL:
Coconut oil is used in many natural beauty products, and for good reason: It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils, and, well, it smells like cookies.

BENEFITS OF OLIVE OIL:
Olive oil contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols. Antioxidants, when topically applied, may help protect the skin from premature skin aging. … Hydroxytyrosol, a rather rare compound found in olive oil, also prevents free radical damage to the skin.
