Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons ​cream or milk as needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 package cream cheese (softened, 8 ounce)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted

With an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of cream and the vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Sift the powdered sugar and measure 3 cups (about 12 ounces). Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese along with a pinch of salt and beat until fluffy.
