Summer Program
The 2016 Summer Program will engage students who are in rising 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
The summer program is a four-week program (beginning June 6 and ending July 1) from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The program offers robotics, anatomy, engineering, field trips and guest STEAM visitors*. Health, mathematics, and other aspects of STEAM are integrated into all curricular activities. The summer academy is an exciting learning experience for students in a small group learning environment. The summer academy will culminate with student presentations of science projects developed throughout the four weeks. Projects will be presented to students’ families, faculty and staff of MSM on the main campus.
The summer program curriculum consists of thematic programming, ranging from engineering/technology, food science, and health and healthy bodies, to scientific inquiry. The curricular activities are reflective of the theme. Students are engaged in inquiry–based activities that reinforce the curriculum taught during the morning classes, and make the content relevant to everyday life.
*The following are examples of previous STEAM visitors: IBM, Ga Power, and the Ga State Bio Bus
